The Confusing Gender Confusing Confusion

I recently had someone in my office talking about their son, who said he feels like a woman. He is attracted to females, but is still pursuing gender reassignment in order to find himself inside the body he feels like is supposed to be feminine. This would make him a male, transitioned into a female, who is sexually attracted to females. 

 

Confusing right!

 

I responded with interest. But my question was this, “You know it’s impossible to feel like a gender, right?” That’s true though. You can’t feel like a man or feel like a woman. 

 

Don’t believe me. 

 

Try it! Describe how it feels to be the gender you are. 

 

Today’s a very hot topic. 

 

I pray that it is met with openness and a right heart. Because it’s a pretty heavy conversation. Today I hope to talk through the confusing, gender confusing, confusion. 

 

I know. . . Right? 

 

You might think my title to be a bit presumptuous. But the truth is, the world has tried to create such a confusing narrative that nobody seems to be able to understand it. So I hope to give some perspective that will help clarify why this is a big deal, and how we should treat it.
